open pitch day
Date: 22nd July 2019
Time: 11-4
Where: 6th floor at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, Waterloo.
Ask for Helen Lewis at reception.
No need to sign up! But if we're talking to someone, please do wait for us to finish.
We're hosting a FREE, open pitch-to-the publisher event, in London
If you can answer YES to the first question and then at least one of the following questions then why not pop the date in your diary and join us?
-
Are you a British Black writer?
-
Do you write literary fiction for adults or young adults (14-21 year olds)?
-
Have you written a book already that you’d like to get published?
-
Are you looking to get signed to an innovative and dynamic new imprint built on years of publishing success?
-
Are you determined, passionate and motivated to get your writing out to a wider audience?
What are we looking for?
Someone who is determined, hard-working, open to ideas, feedback and opportunities. We want to invest and develop and support two British Black authors through the publishing process before, during and after their book launches. In return, we are looking for a talented writer who is open to building their online platform, participating in events (such as bookshop signings/reader events/conferences) and doing PR and marketing such as media interviews.
We are looking for adult or YA literary fiction no horror or erotica please!
We recommend you do your research before you come along to see us and follow co-founders Abiola Bello and Helen Lewis on social media to find out more about what they’re doing, what they’re looking for from a new writer, and what their plans are for the future (so you can talk about how you see you and your book fitting in with our goals!).
